Play and grow together

PlayAble provides a platform to strengthen family and child engagement.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following the latest government advice, all non-essential gatherings both indoors and outdoors are to be put on hold until further notice. For the health and safety of our playgroup community, we request ALL playgroups suspend sessions immediately. Please join us on social media to share play-at-home ideas and ways to support each other via our online community.

The program

PlayAble is an innovative play-based intervention program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder aged 2 to 5. It uses the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) as the intervention framework. The ESDM framework “seeks to empower children with Autism to become active participants in the world, initiating interactions with other people.” (ESDM Manual, xi).

The 'therapy' in PlayAble

PlayAble’s ‘play’ component replicates a playgroup. It is delivered by a trained Playgroup Queensland therapist and provides activities suitable for children with a range of diverse needs.
