Strengthen family and child engagement
PlayAble is an early intervention program for children aged two-to-five who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or are in the process of getting a diagnosis.
The program fuses group-based intervention and facilitated playgroups. It is delivered by a trained Playgroup Queensland therapist in a safe, welcoming environment. Parents get involved by assuming the role of ‘expert’ of their child throughout each session.
The interventional framework PlayAble based on is the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). ESDM is an evidence-based, comprehensive, play-based approach to teaching that focuses on helping children with ASD develop social communication skills, play skills, relationship and language.
For children with ASD and their families to connect, communicate and learn through participation in a safe and welcoming environment that combines facilitated playgroups with therapeutic early intervention programs.
